Project Open NanoCarbon is actively seeking scientists with expertise in physics: photonics & lasers, magnetic fields & plasma, nano-materials, and chemical physics, as well as chemists and later on engineers. Please join the chat and add yourself to this wiki.

We're working on experiments for BASF17. The current active phases of ONC are working scientific field reviews of CO2 dissociation and recombination prevention and metastudy of relevant dissociation energy states. Plasma and other topics are pending project leads. CO2 separation from ambient atmospheric gas will be investigated from an engineering standpoint later in the project life cycle.

The current idea is to study dissociation mechanics at the particle level to understand and uncover routes that can be tailored to high volume dissociation at the macro level. Once such routes are enumerated, the best high volume system can be designed and refined.

Hopefully we will be able to engineer a high speed route. The current laser photo-dissociation routes are, vacuum ultra violet light and ultra violet light at high pressures. From the studies, CO2 dissociates with working parameters of high pressure and temperature and laser wavelength which are unfortunately still outside commodity hardware.
